This is not as easy i though the build was easy but now to get the right setup is another story
Tyres - compond & sizes
Gearing - to get the gearing right every time you change something weather its tyres or something on the motor that influences power, the clutch , the gearing is out and you have to start again
And sprockets are not that cheap considering everytime you change sprocket sizes the chain gets shortend or you buy a new longer one
Changing the whole transmition in a months time again
the shocks how hard or soft, the rebound ...to get the perfect weight transfer to get the best 60ft times
How the track is preped
Track temp.
What tyre pressure to run depending on how the track is preped and the track temp.
Wheather or not track bite has been laid down
The track is different from the morning and the afternoon - strange but true
eg
some tracks use track bite
some tracks are level
some tracks dip down then up
some tracks go up then dip down
When to warm up tyres (dry burnout)
when to use water ( burnout in water bin)
when not to warm up tyres
Practicing reaction times
Different tracks use differnt chrismastree timming some will be set at .4 of a second others .6 or even .8 of a second.
Its more learning and expereminting cause what works for one person might not work for the next person, and what works on one track does not work on the other track..................
Some of those guys with the R1 raptors have been at this for 4 years , so they have tried and tested what works for them
Its not like we can just go to the track and practice when we want
we get 1 day to practice before a national race and get to race on race day
other tracks race day is your practice day
and remember you can just go when you want you wait until your class gets called so you dont really get alot of time in the seat to practice
we normally get 2 practice runs, two qualifying runs , the its RACE time
now take everything from above all the factors that influence your performance and fit this into 2 runs and try and decide what works, so you know what setup to use for your qualifing runs , then decide was it better or worse, remember your up to race next
ITS DAM DIFFICULT
me ive still got alot of learning
remember every thing plays a factor
as in drag racing a tenth of a second can mean a win or a loss
